In his deeply personal work, “Trauma Is a Thief,” Dr. King draws on his own experiences within a profoundly troubled family — marked by sexual and physical abuse, abandonment, and multiple family addictions — to highlight the developmental and lifelong impacts of trauma.

Dr. Camarda — a distinguished NASA astronaut, aerospace engineer, and author — served as the Director of Engineering at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. He has made significant contributions to space exploration and engineering innovation and is the author of “ Mission Out of Control,” a book that explores the importance of maintaining a research culture focused on learning and innovation to prevent accidents in high-risk organizations.
