20-YEAR-OLD MEMPHIS THIEF USED FORCE TO CONFISCATE VEHICLES
Back in November 2023, MM (20) of Memphis, Tennessee, pleaded guilty to “discharging a firearm during a violent crime, brandishing a firearm during a violent crime, possessing a stolen firearm, and two counts of carjacking.”
According to a press release issued by the United States Attorney’s Office, on February 1, 2022, MM, with gun in hand, approached a man at a Memphis gas station and demanded the keys to the latter’s vehicle – a 2009 Pontiac G6. As the vehicle’s owner attempted to run into the store, MM shot him in the back, and drove away with the victim’s car, which he later sold for $1,225.00.
Some 12 days later, on February 13, 2022, with gun in tow, MM approached another man and demanded the keys to his 2020 Dodge Journey. After the latter complied, MM also ended up taking the man’s AirPods and gun which had been left in the vehicle.
Later arrested and charged with the two carjackings, MM was found in possession of that second victim’s gun. He was eventually sentenced, last month, on February 26, 2024, to 275 months in federal prison, and five years of supervised release.
Do you think he got jacked up about that?
