Now in its fifth year, the BIFA Qualifying KINO LONDON SHORT FILM FESTIVAL is “run by filmmakers for filmmakers.” Operated by award-winning creatives, who appreciated the “frustrations with the wider festival circuit,” they opted to organize their own event, which is scheduled to run from July 28 – August 4, 2024, at The Garden Cinema (London).

Screening at this year’s festivities, you’ll find: TWOFOLD — written by Toto Bruin and directed by Ella Greenwood, a Forbes “30 Under 30” honoree. (Among its many accolades, the project won BEST SHORT FILM at this year’s LGBT+ FILM FESTIVAL POLAND (April 2024)).

In this story, as New Year’s Eve festivities are underway, our protagonists have a chance encounter. But when they recognize each other from over a decade prior, fireworks ensue — with the story tackling such themes as love, deception, abuse of power, and lack of consent.
