NO YOUTHFUL OFFENDER TREATMENT FOR THIS GUY

FAILED TO COMPLY WITH CONDITIONS OF PLEA AGREEMENT

After the New York County Supreme Court denied him youthful offender treatment, and he was convicted of “attempted assault in the first degree,” and sentenced to 3½ years, an appeal ensued.

On its review, the Appellate Division, First Department, noted that the kid “repeatedly stabbed the victim in the leg during an attack,” and failed to comply with the conditions of his plea agreement, by committing additional “serious crimes,” and getting rearrested, prior to his sentencing.

Given that backdrop, the AD1 found no “abuse of discretion” by the court below and declined to substitute a “youthful offender adjudication in the interest of justice.”

Think he’ll have a grand old time in prison?
