THREATENED TO BOMB FBI’S WESTWOOD OFFICE

FACES UP TO 5 YEARS IN PRISON ON EACH COUNT

MWA (52) of Sun Valley, California, was convicted by a federal jury of “two counts of threats by interstate communication.”  Apparently, he is said to have sent a bunch of “threatening communications,” to the FBI, including two threats to bomb the agency’s Westwood field office.

By way of example, on December 5, 2023, MWA sent an email in which he wrote, “I AM THE UNABOMBER” and “I WILL UNABOMB THE LOS ANGELES FBI HQ.”

The following day, he wrote, “I can go on a mass murder spree. In fact it would be very explainable by your actions.” And ended that the email with, “[y]ou ain’t getting away with this one,” and signed off as, “SuperMax or Death.”

By way of a written statement, Attorney General Merrick B. Garland noted that, "This verdict should make clear that the Justice Department has no tolerance for threats of violence against the FBI …. The men and women of the FBI are courageous public servants who do their work with integrity and skill, and we will stop at nothing to hold accountable those who threaten them with violence."

U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada for the Central District of California, added, “Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to keep our community safe and therefore deserve our thanks and respect …. Those who threaten the FBI and other law enforcement officers ignore the daily sacrifices these officers make to protect us and undermine the rule of law. We will continue to stand with our law enforcement partners.”

MWA is scheduled to be sentenced on September 13, 2024, he faces up to 5 years in prison for each count.

Think his sentencing will go like a bomb?
