The Legendary Makers Film Festival is held while Oregon’s largest pan-Asian American-centered event — Legendary Makers Market (featuring over 200 vendors) — is underway.

And on Friday, July 26, 2024, 6-8 PM (PDT), at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, (Beaverton, Oregon), they’ll be screening DRAGONFLY — an animated short written and directed by Julia Morizawa.

Inspired by the lives of Julia’s maternal grandparents, and the stories her mom shared about growing up on the family farm in Japan, this unique work examines the devastating impact of the Tokyo Firebombing of March 9-10, 1945, and addresses “the generational trauma of war, the power of family, and finding the strength to rise from the ashes.”
