FB Society f/k/a Front Burner Restaurants — which operates Haywire, Mexican Sugar, Son of a Butcher Slider Bar, and Whiskey Cake restaurants (to name just a few of its establishments) — has about eight restaurants around the country under the SIXTY VINES banner and a friend wanted to visit their location near the Boca Raton Marriott at Boca Center (5050 Town Center Circle).

According to media reports, about 60% of this chain’s customers are millennials. And that’s supposedly why they offer their wines in 5-ounce pours; to make them more accessible and affordable. And, overall, we had no issue with their pricing. It was the quality of the food offerings that gave us pause.
▫️
For example, since I’m a big fan of Mediterranean food, I’ll always pick up a few dips if they happen to be on the menu. And sure enough, this place features a “HUMMUS — red beet hummus, edamame hummus, warm focaccia” ($11 pre-tax/tip).
▫️
While its origins are disputed, some food historians think this dish hails from ancient Egypt, since chickpeas are abundant in the Middle East. Ordinarily, it’s made with cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. Here they add roasted beets to the mix in one jar, and edamame (young soybeans) in the other. And while the dips had a colorful, visually appealing look, we found them exceedingly dry; almost clay-like.

Since we’re not into eating unfired pottery, or “raw ware,” this item rated a “C-.”
▫️
I, however, thought it deserved an “F.” And because this dish is dead to me. I’m sharing this posthummus review.
