Brooke Shields’s California Crib Cost
Famed actress/model Brooke Shields recently sold her ritzy Pacific Palisades residence, after living in it for over a quarter-century for about $7.4 MM. (The purchaser was Hallmark actor, Sam Page.)
The five-bedroom, five-bathroom, chalet-style estate sits on over a half-acre of property and offers small-town charm from the curb -- with cedar shingles and red brick decorating the exterior, and greenery hugging the driveway, which is lined with herringbone-patterned stones.
But with three-stories and over 5,300 square feet of living space, the interior has much more to offer. Upon entry, a two-story foyer connects to a tremendous living room which houses an elegant marble fireplace and wrap-around terrace. Dark-stained Douglas fir hardwood line the floors and provide a refreshing contrast against the whitewashed ceilings. Leading into the chef’s kitchen, you’ll find top of the line appliances, a white-marble topped island with mahogany wood base, and open, airy views of the surrounding California canyons from the seating area.
Upstairs, the master suite takes up the entirety of the 3rd floor – and includes multiple fireplaces in the bedroom and bathroom (along with a soaking tub and marble-steamed shower), a personal office, a sitting room, an exquisite walk-in closet and dressing room, as well as a spacious outside deck sporting views of the surrounding neighborhood and Getty Center.
Throughout the rest of the home you’ll come across a range of amenities, including a game room, a media room, a wet bar, and four additional spacious bedrooms.
Outside, a terraced pathway leads you to the incredible turned-out waterfall pool and hot tub spa (which Shields may have nicknamed the “Blue Lagoon”), surrounded by stonework and a wooden sundeck. Tall trees and a retaining rock wall provide some shade from the hot California sun.
The Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles still retains its small-town charm, as it’s not a tourist hot spot like some other parts of the city. That's why many celebrities including Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and Dennis Quaid, have purchased homes in the area; to escape the glitz and glam of Hollywood and, of course, the dreaded paparazzi.
Shields, who started her acting career at just 11 months old with a spot in an Ivory Soap commercial, held on to the California residence for the majority of her career, and even rented it out to some A-listers -- like Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston -- while she was living in New York.
Jade Mills and Albert Sousa of Coldwell Banker Realty held the listing and closed the deal.
