THIS CRISPY CHICKEN DIDN'T LAY AN EGG

For our next course, our server suggested we go with the “Crispy Chicken Steamed Bun – ranch mayo, pickles, gem lettuce (2 pieces)” ($12).

If you look up the ingredient list online, you’ll need quite a bit of stuff to make this dish. You’ve got the breading (flour, corn starch, baking powder, salt, paprika powder, garlic powder), the marinade (yogurt, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika powder, dried oregano), and if you want a “crunchy salad” (many use red cabbage, salt, sesame oil, wine vinegar, red onion, cilantro) ….

But let’s just say, if you’re looking to avoid the hassle of making this thing yourself, and are in search for a crispy, juicy chicken that’s also quite savory … then you must try this offering. While $12 (for two small fried chicken “sandwiches”) ain’t the best deal in town, (and points were deducted accordingly), given the oceanfront views, and the natural beauty you’ll encounter as you dine, some felt that was well worth the price of admission.

While it was perfectly cooked (and not overly fried), points were also deducted because the accompanying buns were flavorless. (We were hoping they’d be slightly sweeter.) All told, while this chicken dish wasn’t egg-ceptional, it still scored an impressive “B” and can commend it to you.
