SoHo Dream
If you happen to have $18 million and are searching for a home which sits at the intersection of art, fashion, history, entertainment, fine dining, and great nightlife – have we got the place for you!
A new luxury residence has just hit the market in SoHo, and its curator definitely justifies the lofty price tag. Ken Fulk – internationally renowned designer and party planner to the extremely rich and famous – has recently converted a 6,000 sq. ft. SoHo duplex into an artistic masterpiece which combines “county manor” and “urban townhouse,” all while paying homage to “the industrial history of the neighborhood.”
The apartment is located in a pre-war Beaux Arts building, on a street paved with old-world cobblestones. It is a two-story residence, with each floor having both main and service entrances. The interior blueprint has an open concept with the downstairs area featuring an eat-in kitchen, three bedrooms and a large living room. Barrel-vaulted ceilings draw your eyes upward, and towards the elegant internal staircase and exposed brick. Beneath the staircase, the master bedroom comes equipped with an impressive hanging chandelier, a private bathroom, and massive walk-in closet.
As you head upstairs, you’ll be greeted by many Art Deco accents, and sharp contrasting colors in the large entertaining space, which includes a wet bar and built-in marble buffet. Altogether, the duplex has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, with each room unlike the other.
This opulent pad definitely isn’t for the faint of heart (or fans of beige), but is waiting for the right individual(s) with confidence to settle in and call it home.
Design-wise, Fulk’s got some pretty impressive feathers in his cap, including top restaurants, clubs and wineries in San Francisco, and the interior design of the Saint Joseph’s Arts Society. He was also responsible for the complete overhaul of a San Fran mansion belonging to Michael and Xochi Burch – founders of the tech startup, Bebo. In the event planning realm, Fulk gained celebrity status for planning (Napster co-founder) Sean Parker’s medieval-themed wedding in Big Sur, as well as Jean Paul Gartier’s 2012 fashion party.
Prior to this SoHo project, Fulk oversaw the renovation of a boutique-hotel-inspired residential building in midtown, and was given free rein to remodel the lobby restaurant and rooftop lounge, as well as control of the party planning service, weekly flower market and all guest performances at the venue. In recognition of his achievements, Fulk has become a member of the well-respected Architectural Digest 100.
The apartment, at 151 Wooster St., is currently listed at $17.995 MM with Tal Alexander, Marc Riedel, Oren Alexander and Jared Schwadron of Douglas Elliman.
