The last item we ordered at Tim Ho Wan — the “Dim Sun Specialists” — over on 9th Avenue, in Manhattan’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” was the Steamed Rice with Chicken ($5.95).
Given that several of the Hong Kong branches of this restaurant chain (with some 46 locations worldwide) have been awarded a Michelin Star, our expectations were quite high.
While most of the dishes we sampled were utterly disappointing, we enjoyed the suppleness and juiciness of this particular dish.
Because we appreciated the taste, and found the pricing pretty reasonable, this offering scored a “B.” (A pleasant surprise, given all the misses we experienced.)
Points were lost because the chicken was slightly greasier, and the rice was mushier (softer), than we would have preferred.
