While we were in Palm Beach, a friend wanted to try Hai House’s “Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings” — (four to an order: $15; $7.50 (Happy Hour)).
Typically, one expects to receive a pleated, paper-thin dough, that’s shaped into a small “purse” and is filled with soupy deliciousness.
Not at “Hai House,” a trendy new establishment over on Worth Avenue that prides itself on modern “American Asian” fare.
Apparently, this restaurant’s vision of “soup dumplings,” is to offer diners dumplings ... devoid of any soup.
Because they were gummy, and way too dry, this terribly disappointing dish was an utter fail ... and rated an abominable “F.”
