Went to “Three” (Norman Van Aiken’s place in Wynwood (Miami) for brunch, and sampled his “Southbound Biscuits” — with Vermont butter and blueberry jam ($9).
Aiken — who is an American chef and author — offers “New World” cuisine which “celebrates the ethnic diversity and food history of Florida in a globally-informed way.” (He was affectionately dubbed the “Walt Whitman of American cuisine,” by fellow restaurateur and chef, Charlie Trotter.)
O me! O life! While the biscuits were quite good, because we thought the $9 ask was a bit high (for the two small pieces we received), this “dish” forfeited points, but still ended up with a pretty respectable “B+.”
