As a Congressman, my job is to make sure that our government is working for you.
That's why I sent a letter to the United States Postal Service last week demanding improvements to delivery service in Queens. It's unacceptable for mail to be delayed by weeks, especially when so many New Yorkers rely on the postal service to deliver their social security benefits, prescriptions, and other critical mail.
But I know these issues with the Postal Service are only a symptom of a larger problem.
Residents of Queens and the Bronx are suffering because of the Republicans' inability to effectively govern. As your Congressman, I see these impacts every day, from people who need help applying for benefits only to have their applications unnecessarily delayed, to families living in constant fear of losing their health care. In Congress, our neighborhoods are my priority, and I'm working every day to help residents of New York's 14th Congressional District.
As Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, I also know how much more Congress could accomplish if we had a Democratic majority in the House. From expanding access to affordable health care, to protecting immigrants, to investing in our transportation and infrastructure, we could really start making the advancements this country needs.
That's why I'm fighting to elect more Democrats across the country. We need a government that functions and we need Representatives who fight tirelessly to make sure their constituents have access to the resources and services they need. The good news is a Democratic majority can be a reality if we work together.
