Columbia University Dance Marathon is a student-run, philanthropic event that seeks to unite the campus around a common cause: to eradicate pediatric HIV/AIDS and finally see a generation free from HIV. In response to the overwhelming desire of students to participate actively in the fight against HIV/AIDS, CUDM began in 2001 as part of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation's college outreach program. Now in its ninth year, CUDM has since grown to become Columbia University's largest philanthropic event, having raised over $380,000 for the Foundation's lifesaving programs. Participants pledge to stay on their feet for 28 hours in an effort to represent the mental and physical challenges faced by children suffering from HIV/AIDS. Support Columbia University Dance Marathon - and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation - because every child deserves a lifetime. |
