FORMER AGENT GETS 28 MONTHS FOR LYING TO FBI

FAILED TO DISCLOSE PRIVATE BUSINESS DEALINGS AND RECEIPT OF $225,000

In mid-February, CFM (55), a former FBI agent was sentenced to 28 months in prison (to be followed by three years of supervised release) for failing to disclose the receipt of some $225,000 from a person tied with the Albanian government.

Back in September of 2023, he pleaded guilty to one count of concealing material facts. Apparently, while he was “Special Agent in Charge of the FBI New York Field Office” (from August 2017, thru September 2018), CFM failed to disclose his business dealings with a foreign government representative and did not disclose to the agency that he had received $225,000 from that individual. (He also failed to reveal that he traveled abroad and met with “foreign nationals,” to further his personal business interests.)

Interestingly, in December of last year, CFM was sentenced to 50 months in prison (and ordered to pay a $40,000 fine), for “conspiring to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA),” and purported “money laundering.”

He’s clearly no longer a free agent ….
