ATTORNEY ATTEMPTED TO BRIBE MASS. POLICE CHIEF

FOR $25K, WANTED POLICE CHIEF TO APPROVE CLIENT’S MARIJUANA BUSINESS

SOD (55), of Somerville, Massachusetts, was convicted in late October by a federal jury who found that the former lawyer had engaged in an unlawful scheme to bribe a Medford, Mass., police official.

Apparently, SOD sought to offer the police chief a $25,000 payment in exchange for the latter's approval of a client’s recreational marijuana business. (If approved, SOD was to receive a $100,000 a year from that client; who was reportedly unaware of the attorney's criminal misconduct.)

Scheduled to be sentenced on February 7, 2024, SOD faces up to 20 years in prison on each of the two counts of “honest services wire fraud,” and up to 10 years on the “bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds” count.

That poor SOD ….
