ATTORNEY MADE $10 MILLION SELLING PHONY CHARITABLE DEDUCTIONS
In mid-January, MLM, an attorney from Davie, Florida, pleaded guilty to “conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax evasion,” for promoting a tax shelter scheme that involved “false charitable deductions.”
By way of his “Ultimate Tax Plan,” MLM made over $10 million from clients who secured deductions for charitable donations which MLM knew were fraudulent.
While sentencing has not yet been set, MLM faces up to five years in prison for each charge, together with “a period of supervised release, restitution and monetary penalties.”
Now how taxing will that be?
