OUR DRAGONFLY HEADS TO OREGON WINE COUNTRY

MCMINNVILLE SHORT FILM FESTIVAL HAS OUR DRAGONFLY

The McMinnville Short Film Festival, which is set out in the Oregon wine country, is a non-profit organization which celebrates “the art of independent film with the goal of introducing emerging creative voices to one another and to our audiences.”

Held each February, this internationally recognized event focuses on such narrative topics, as “Native American, Drama, LGBTQ, Comedy, Horror, Experimental, Animation and Documentary films.”

Among the official selections slated to screen on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024, you’ll find DRAGONFLY — written and directed by Julia Morizawa. This animated short film was inspired by the lives of Julia’s maternal grandparents and the stories her mom shared about growing up on the family farm in Japan.

Based upon the devastating impact of the Tokyo Firebombing of March 9-10, 1945, this unique work addresses “the generational trauma of war, the power of family, and finding the strength to rise from the ashes.”
