HELPING THE FIRST-TIMERS
I ran for office for the first time when I was 24, and it was a huge leap of faith: There's a LOT to learn, and it was hard to know exactly what I was getting myself into.
That's why it's inspiring to see so many first-time candidates in our growing list of endorsements, including 12 of our House candidates and Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, our candidate for governor in Maryland.
For these women, an EMILY's List endorsement reaffirms their potential as a candidate. And it comes with the support that can be the difference between victory and defeat.
Donate to help make sure we can give first-time candidates the extra support they need to win.
When women do run for office, we know they win at the same rates as men. Traditionally, it's been getting women to put their names on ballots where we've struggled.
But President Trump has changed all that.
Since Election Day 2016, more than 22,000 women have told us they're ready to run for office. It's clear women are getting over their fear and getting in the game.
Now, it's up to us to train and support these women so they have the skills and resources to win.
