This weekend, millions of Americans will gather to celebrate the long weekend and the beginning of summer. But it is important that we take the time to think about the true meaning of this holiday.
Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember all those who served our country and gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our great nation. The veterans we honor today gave their lives so we may live safely at home. We must acknowledge these sacrifices, and provide and protect those who risked everything to protect our freedom.
Today and everyday, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and extend our deepest gratitude for their service.
