As we enjoy our day-off with friends and family, barbeques and picnics, we owe a great deal of gratitude to the hard-working Americans who came before us.
Thanks to their dedication, we live in an America where middle class families can succeed and where hard work and playing by the rules pays off.
But let’s always remember that our work remains unfinished. I’ll never stop fighting to expand opportunity for Illinois’ women and families and making sure that everyone has a fair shot at American opportunity.
So as we turn a new leaf and send our kids back to school, I wanted to wish you a Happy Labor Day from my family to yours.
